Line Fine As Bruins Clip Cougars
GOSHEN – A parade to the free throw line in the final frame helped carry host Bethany Christian past Lakeland Christian Academy in boys basketball action Tuesday night.
The host Bruins used a 15-19 effort from the stripe in the fourth quarter to hold off the Cougars in notching a 62-52 victory.
The Bruins led 39-28 entering the final period of play before being outscored 24-23 in the final period of play by the Cougars.
Josh McDaniel led the way for LCA with 16 points in the contest.
The trio of Noah Twombly, Jake Harmon and Carter Twombly each finished with six points for the Cougars. Jon Harmon, Landon Twombly and Conner Blum each netted five points.
Seth Brenneman paced the winners with 19 points. Kory Kern scored 15 points and Joel Miller nine for the Bruins. Bethany Christian hit 19-30 from the line overall for the game.
LCA falls to 0-2 on the season, while Bethany moves to 1-2.
LCA plays at Hamilton and Bethany travels to Prairie Heights Saturday night.
