David Letterman Donates Set To Ball State University
MUNCIE — David Letterman was back at his alma mater and made a major announcement.
The retired late night host told a crowd at Ball State he is donating his old set, props, and other memorabilia to the university to be part of the “Dave Letterman Experience.” The items will come from both of Letterman’s late night shows, “Late Night” and “Late Show.” The exhibit will be housed in the Letterman Building on the Ball State campus.
“I’m so lucky to have been invited back. I want to thank everybody here, everybody on campus and the people who run this university,” Letterman said. “It’s an honor to maintain this association, so thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.”
Letterman, who was a weatherman at WLWI (now WTHR) and also hosted a variety show, was still sporting the beard he began growing after his retirement in May.
