Betty Elaine Waldon
Betty Elaine Waldon, 76, Wabash, died at 11:50 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester, where she lived the past three years. She was born March 30, 1939, in New London, Connecticut to Martin and Lenore (Clark) Turner.
Betty married Paul G. Waldon in Lyme, Ct.on Dec. 1, 1956, he died July 23, 2014. She was a homemaker and a Pastor’s wife. She was a member of the Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church and the Women L.A.C. of the church. Betty enjoyed painting, gardening, sewing, cooking, singing, and playing the piano. She was a longtime Wabash resident.
She is survived by her four children: Pam (Dennis) Kochenour, Roann; Jeff (Abby) Waldon, Russell (Debbie) Waldon; and Bonnie (Thomas) Fleshood, all of Wabash; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Pauline (Charles) Shelley; and Sherri (George) Perkins, both of Connecticut; her brother: Ivan (Mary Jo) Turner, Centennial, Colo. She was also preceded in death by a brother; a sister; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Pastor Bill Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Animal Shelter of Wabash County.
