Police Investigating Alleged Attempted Robbery
WARSAW — Warsaw Police continue their investigation into an alleged attempted robbery of a Warsaw man Friday evening, behind Northern Lakes Orthopedics.
Octaviano Ayala Vazquez notified police at 9:47 p.m. that he was attacked by three young white males as he was walking home from work, at American Table, to Eastgate Apartments. Vazquez, who was hit in calf/knee area of the left leg, by an aluminum bat, refused medical treatment.
Vazquez told police he uses the entrance to the apartment complex behind Northern Lakes Orthopedics. As he was walking through the parking lot of the business, he observed a vehicle parked in the northwest corner of the lot, near the dumpster. As he approached the dumpster, three individuals appeared from behind the dumpster, asking him for money. Vazquez told the alleged robbers he had no money at which time they struck him and then fled.
Warsaw Police, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies and Winona Lake Police searched the area but could not find a vehicle matching the description. All Vazquez could tell police was that the individuals were young, white, thin build, and drove away in a red four-door vehicle, east on Lake City Highway.
