Offense Sputters In Triton Loss
PLYMOUTH – Triton didn’t manage a basket until the second half, and by then, Plymouth was well out of reach in a 37-20 girls basketball loss Thursday night.
Triton was held to just two points in the first half, hitting just one free throw per quarter. Plymouth took a 21-2 lead into the half and match Triton nearly point for point in the second half.
Trojan leading scorer Hannah Wanemacher was out ill and Plymouth managed to keep two of Triton’s offensive options, Shayla May and Nicole Sechrist, without a point. Jaela Meister had 10 points in the game to lead Triton.
Alli Andrews did most of the scoring work for Plymouth, outscoring Triton on her own with 21 points. No other Pilgrim had more than four points.
Plymouth won the JV game over Triton 34-12.
Triton falls to 0-5 overall, looking at a matchup next Tuesday at NorthWood. Plymouth (4-0) will play Saturday at Valparaiso.
