Free Fun With Santa In North Webster
NORTH WEBSTER — Celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season in Webster style with the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce Saturday, Nov. 21. From 3 to 5 p.m. is a fun and free event inside the North Webster Community Center, 301 N. Main St., called “A Visit with Santa.”
Area children sign in a get a passport to take part in various activities in the gym where they get a stamp on the passport when completed. Activities include bounce houses, games, coloring, book reading and crafts. A free visit and photo with Santa Claus are included. Santa will be in a special room where the visit and photos will take place. When the passport is filled in, it entitles the child to free pizza in the banquet hall.
Also in the banquet hall between 3 and 5 p.m., the video from WNIT-South Bend PBS “Our Town-North Webster” will be shown. Order forms will be available to purchase the video and support WNIT.
At 5:30 p.m. the action moves to the south parking lot of the community center. Local businesses and organizations are urged to participate in the two block parade that will move down SR 13 to Pilcher Shoes’s lawn. Santa will lead the parade in a North Webster-Tippecanoe Township fire truck.
There at 6 p.m., the town tree will be lit. The chamber has purchased double the number of new lights for the 2015 town tree.
This event is just one way the North Webster Chamber of Commerce gives back to those in the community who support it and its member businesses and organizations. Funds were raised to put on “A Visit with Santa” from the soup and soup bowl sales by the chamber at the annual North Webster Heart of the Harvest Fall Festival.
