Metro Detroit Restaurant Offers Free Thanksgiving Meals To People Dining Alone
NORTHVILLE, MICH. — If you are away from your family and friends on Thanksgiving for whatever reason, a Metro Detroit restaurant is making you an honorary member of its family.
George’s Senate Coney Island Restaurant is offering free Thanksgiving meals to anyone dining alone on Thanksgiving. No questions asked.
The restaurant is located at 39430 Dun Rovin Drive in Northville, off of Haggerty Road, south of Six Mile Road.
Sixty-nine-year-old George Dimopoulos came to America from Greece in 1969. He says he really enjoys giving back and making people happy, especially on Thanksgiving. He says he’s been doing this for 10 years and has served dozens of people dining alone each year. The restaurant is also offering a full Thanksgiving Day dinner for $22.95 per person.
George works at his restaurant in Northville 15 hours a day, seven days a week. All of the regulars know him and say “Hi.” The Northville restaurant has been open for 12 years. There are also George’s Senate Coney Island restaurants in Livonia, Taylor, Dearborn and Wixom. The Northville location is the only one which will be open on Thanksgiving.
The menu features a wide variety of Greek and American food, along with coneys.
