Warsaw Lands Seven On All-Academic XC Teams
TERRE HAUTE – The Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches released its 2015 cross country Academic All-State and Honorable Mention lists Friday, and Warsaw have seven on the various lists.
Warsaw’s Allison Miller, Charlene Orr and Lauren Orr all made Academic All-State and Emma Hayward on the Honorable Mention All-State list for the girls. Honorable Mention All-State nods went to Warsaw boys cross country runners Colton Andrews, Jon Beres and Owen Glogovsky.
Numerous athletes from area teams made the boys and girls lists.
Area girls on the All-State list include Annie Shea of Culver Academy, Megan Campbell of Northridge, Julia Nafe of Penn, Dianne Waweru of South Bend Riley, Sierra Weaver of Westview, South Bend Adams’ duo of Rachel Ott and Jennifer Firehammer, and the South Bend St. Joseph’s duo of Caroline O’Callaghan and Taylor Rock.
Honorable Mention All-State went to Stephanie Ma of Culver Academy, Katie Culler of Fremont, Arieanna Eaton of South Bend Adams, a NorthWood trio of Desirae Diamond, Kayla Chapman and Hannah Walter, and the St. Joe duo of Emily Anderson and Jackie Youngs.
Area boys on the All-State list include Joe Vandiver of East Noble, Carsten Stolz of South Bend Adams, Conner Yoder of NorthWood, Eli Pugh of Rochester, Daniel Nobel of South Bend Clay, Jonathon Collins of Southwood, the Concord quartet of Noah Nisen, Tyler Schwartz, Benzer Jonathan Gomez and Benjamin Current, the Culver Academy duo of John Duffy and Phillip Young, the Penn duo of Riley Vreeka and Daniel Hardman and the St. Joe duo of Matt Morris and Mike Everett.
Honorable Mention All-State went to Philip Phan of East Noble, Blake Kirkham of New Prairie, the Adams duo of Jack Lloyd and Santiago David, the Northridge duo of Riley Golden and Conner Sandt, the St. Joe duo of Brendan Bradley and Andy Bowers, the NorthWood trio of Marcus Hershberger, Teagan Stutsman and Nathaniel Williams and the Penn trio of Nicholas Scheel, Reis Kennedy and Josh Backhus.
