Cats Still Rolling, Beat Busco
CHURUBUSCO – Whitko stayed red hot, picking up a 54-45 girls basketball win in Turtletown Saturday night.
The Cats, coming off an emotional win Friday night over rival Columbia City, showed spurts of fatigue Saturday against its neighbors to the southeast. Busco led 16-14 after the first quarter, only for Whitko to storm back to take a 27-23 halftime edge.
Aly Reiff continued to set the pace for the Cats with 31 points, hitting 11-12 free throw attempts and drilled a pair of three’s. Jennifer Reiff tossed in eight points and Hanna Yohe finished with six points.
Jazlyn Needler had 13 points to pace the home side with Stacia Fester adding nine points.
Whitko, which sit at 4-0 on its torrid start to the season, continue its busy schedule with a road trip to Peru Tuesday night. Busco (1-1) will visit Lakeland Christian Academy Tuesday evening.
