Wawasee Promoting Honor Flight Program
SYRACUSE – Wawasee High School its doing its part in giving back to those who have served our country. Fundraising efforts have been taking place throughout the school this week with one more big event to come.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, all proceeds from this Friday’s girls basketball game against Westview will go to the Honor Flight Program. The Honor Flight program helps to fly veterans, and a companion, to Washington D.C. for a day to visit the memorial of the war in which they fought.
From the Honor Flight website:
Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. We transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.
JV tips at 6:15 p.m., varsity is slated to start 20 minutes following the conclusion of the JV game.
