WARSAW — The Center Street Community Theatre will hold auditions for “The Foreigner,” a comedy by Larry Shue from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 14 and 15 in the basement of Warsaw First United Methodist Church. Callbacks will be held on Dec. 17 at the same time and place. Beth Anne Cox will direct the show, which is scheduled to take place at The Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts on Feb. 26-27 and March 4-5.
The cast calls for seven main roles, five male characters and two female characters. Director Cox will also be casting at least 16 people for “The Invisible Empire” which will have no speaking roles and minimal rehearsal commitment.
According to Cox, the play is set in Georgia. Two of the male roles are British soldiers with accents. The rest are Southern, but it is imperative for this play’s success that the characters are played as simple, sweet but never stupid. Part of what makes this play work so well is that almost none of the characters are what you think they are when they first appear.
