Betty J. Steen Wildermuth
Betty J. Steen Wildermuth, 87, Akron, and formerly of Dublin, Ohio, passed on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at her residence.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1928, in Washington Court House, Ohio, to Frank and Ersie (Maynard) Sanders.
She was married on June of 1947, in Washington Court House, Ohio, to William D. Steen who preceded on Oct. 18, 1989. She then married Joseph Wildermuth on Jan 3, 1998, He survives. She was a longtime office manager for Worthington Hills Country Club of Worthington, Ohio.
She was a 1946 graduate of Washington Court House High School. She attended the Akron Church of God. Betty enjoyed bowling in her younger years. More recently she enjoyed reading Christian romance novels, playing solitaire, working at the food pantry at the church, getting breakfast at Akron Kountry Kitchen.
Survivors include her husband: Joe Wildermuth, Akron; son: James (Bonnie) Steen, Akron; daughters: Deborah (Benjamin) Reeves, Grove City, Ohio; Diana (Jack) Haran, Bluffton, S.C.; nine grandchildren: Sean; Adam; Matthew; Hilary; Victoria; Rebecca; David; Gerrick; and Cassie; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents: Frank and Ersie (Maynard) Sanders; husband: William Steen; and three sisters: Mary Jo Kelly; Emma Jo Kelly; and Laura Arnold.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, officiated by Pastor Terry Canfield. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Private family burial will be held at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
