NAPPANEE — The following are upcoming events and news for the Nappanee Public Library.
The Tree of Honor
In honor of Indiana Veterans and to help increase awareness of the sacrifices made by service members and their families, the Nappanee Center is decorating a special tree this holiday season with the help of local residents.
Community members are invited to create their own handmade ornaments honoring service members from past and present wars, conflicts and peacetime operations. These ornaments are then placed on a tree decorated with white lights and patriotic trim. Stories about individual service members can also be submitted and displayed in a binder near the tree. The Tree of Honor at the Nappanee Center will be on display Wednesday, Nov. 11, through the holiday season.
Those who wish to contribute their own special ornament or photo (to be copied and incorporated into an ornament) may send or hand-deliver items to the Nappanee Center. For more information, call (574) 773-7812, or email [email protected].
Lego Club
The Nappanee Public Library Lego Club will meet next on Thursday, Nov. 19. Kids ages 5 and up are invited to take part in age-group-appropriate challenges and free building time on the third Thursday of every month during the school year at the Library. The club meets from 6:30-8 p.m. This month’s building challenge is “I am the Architect.”
No registration is required, and parents are welcome to stay and participate. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult, and all materials will be provided.

The fun will take place from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, and no registration is required. International Games Day at your Library is an international initiative supported by the American Library Association, the Australian Library and Information Association, and Nordic Game Day.
