The Rest of the Week
Story time is enjoying fall activities this week. The “I Can Do It” book writers are meeting at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, or 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, for crafts and stories with fall friends.
Children’s book club is meeting Tuesday afternoon to start the series of Cupcake Club books. Children from kindergarten to fifth grade are invited to come in at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, for reading, games, and pumpkin cupcakes.
Veteran’s Day is Wednesday. Miss Kitson has spent the last two weeks recommending books with characters from a variety of wars in which the United States participated. As a coincidence, the adult book club, One Book, One Hour, is discussing “The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion” by Fannie Flagg.
The book, by a much beloved Southern author, has a surprising ending that reminds us that women have also given much in our wars. The reader can expect more than a few turns in a charming story with colorful characters. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 11. Decaf is provided and new people are welcome. NaNoWriMo is also meeting, in the evening after 5:30 p.m., in the adult department
