Daniel L. DeSonia
Mr. Daniel L. DeSonia, 73, Rochester, passed away at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at his home.
On Jan. 31, 1942, Daniel Lee was born in Zanesville, a treasured son of Arlington Joseph and Mildred L. Walters DeSonia. Growing up he shared his childhood with four sisters and six brothers as the third youngest of eleven children. With great pride Dan graduated in 1960 from Belvedere High School in Belvedere, Ill. After graduation he enlisted with the United States Air Force, serving for eight years. He continued to serve our country with the National Guard for a number of years.
In Chicago, on May 5, 1972, Dan married the love of his life Eline Joyce Artist. They shared 31 years of life’s adventures. Sadly she passed away on April 26, 2003.
Daniel is lovingly remembered by six daughters: Robin DeSonia; Theresa Hall; Julie DeSonia, all of Rochester; Lillian Blackburn, Los Angeles, Calif.; Tammy Moriarity, Rockford, Ill.; Bobby Jo (Jeffrey) Blackman, Wabash; two sons: Arlington Joseph DeSonia III “Joey”, Rockford, Ill.; Daniel L. (Amanda) DeSonia, Rochester; 23 grandchildren; three sisxters: Maxine McGee, Akron, Ohio; Peggy McConnell, Zanesville, Ohio; Becky Douset, Houston, Texas; a brother: Jeffrey Cross, Zanesville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dan in death are his parents; beloved wife: Eline Joyce; two sisters: Arlene and Patty; four brothers: James; Dick; Andrew; and Junior.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, and from noon until 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, also at the funeral home before the 1 p.m. Sunday service. Military Honors will be provided by the Fulton county Honor Guard and the US Air Force Honors Team. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bruce Lake.
