Mentone Council Remains Unchanged
MENTONE — There will be no change in the governing body for the city of Mentone following today’s election. All incumbents came through as clear winners.
The race for the three council seats were retained by incumbents Jill L. Gross, Republican; Shelly L. Krueger, Republican; and Timothy H. Croy, Democrat.
In the council race, Gross received 97 votes; Krueger, 93; Croy, 84; and Bobby Eugene Asher, Libertarian, 49 votes.
Barbara Ross, Republican, was unopposed for clerk-treasurer and received 85 votes.
Precinct Breakdown
Franklin Precinct 1, had 25 of its 144 registered voters cast their ballots. There were 24 machine ballots and one absentee ballot.
Krueger lead the council race with 19 votes, followed by Gross and Croy receiving 16 votes each. Asher received 14 votes. In the clerk-treasurers election Ross received 21 votes.
There was one Republican party straight ticket ballot cast.
Harrison Precinct 2 had a 21.23 percent voter turn out with 93 votes cast of its 438 registered voters. Gross, Krueger and Croy carried this precinct in the council race. Gross received 81 votes, Krueger received 74, Croy received 68 and Asher received 35 votes. Ross received a total of 64 votes for clerk-treasurer.
There was one Democrat and five Republican straight party votes cast.
