Sentencings
The following people were sentenced in Kosciusko County courts:
Oct. 15
- Christopher Charles Simpson, 40, 4802 Admirals Pointe Drive, Lafayette, sentenced for burglary of a dwelling. He was sentenced to 10 years in the Indiana Department of Correction. He was also sentenced for criminal deviate conduct to serve 10 years in the Indiana department of Correction, to be served consecutively with four years suspended to be served on probation.
- Joshua Wade Newsome, 32, 3265 S SR 19, Mentone, sentenced for operating while intoxicated. Newsome’s driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was sentenced to 18 moths in the Kosciusko County Jail, with 16 months suspended and Newsome placed on probation upon conditions set by the court.
Oct. 9
- Austin Carl Bakian, 24, 304 W. High st., Etna Green, sentenced for operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 365 days in the Kosciusko County Jail, with 360 days suspended upon conditions set by the court.
- Cynthia D. Collins, 69, 4305 N SR 3, Howe, sentenced for operating while intoxicated. She was sentenced to 60 days in the Kosciusko County Jail, with 50 days suspended upon conditions set by the court.
Oct. 5
- Kelly Yotter, 29, 1204 N Long Drive, Syracuse, sentenced for dealing a schedule I, II or III controlled substance. She was sentenced to 10 years in the Indiana Department of Correction, with four years suspended and Yotter placed on probation, upon conditions set by the court. She was approved to participate in the work release program.
Oct. 2
- Lindy Grace Dilley, 31, 1612 Tippecanoe Drive, Warsaw, sentenced for probation violation. She was sentenced to 60 days in the Kosciusko County Jail.
Sept. 29
- Dustin Lawrence Swindle, 26, 211 S. Main St., Milford, sentenced for strangulation. He was sentenced to two and a half years in the Kosciusko County Jail with one year suspended and served on probation, upon conditions set by the court.
Sept. 17
- Joshua Michael Emmons, 30, 405 E Sycamore St., Silver Lake, sentenced for probation violation. Emmons’ probation was revoked and he was sentenced to an additional 10 months in the Kosciusko County Jail.
Sept. 15
- Dustin Michael Helblig, 24, 3295 Old Colony Road, Warsaw, sentenced for dealing a narcotic. He was sentenced to six years in the Indiana Department of Corrections and to three years for corrupt business influence, to be served consecutively and to be suspended and Helblig placed on probation upon conditions set by the court. He will also serve two years in the Kosciusko County Work Release program.
Sept. 3
- Brandon Lynn Taylor, 25, 229 East CR 1150N, Milford. Sentenced for probation violation. Taylor’s probation was revoked and he was sentenced to 180 days in the Kosciusko County Jail.
