George Earl McCay
George Earl McCay, 79, Plymouth, formerly of the Argos Community, died at 1:11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, following a very sudden illness.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1936, in Argos, to Earl B. McCay and Zella M. (Myers) McCay and had been a life time resident of the Argos community.
On March 27, 1960, in Warsaw, he married Phyllis Ann (Fawley) McCay. She preceded him on Oct. 7, 1981.
George was a lifetime Dairy Farmer. He was a member of the Marshall County Dairy Association; and the Marshall County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
George is survived by his wons: Brent E. (Linda) McCay, Tippecanoe; Michael “Mike” (Rhonda) McCay, Argos; seven grandchildren: Andrew (Karrie) McCay, Argos; Carissa McCay, West Lafayette; Kent McCay, Rochester; and Breanne McCay, Rochester; Staci Singleton, Plymouth; Erica (Chad) Haag, Plymouth; and Carly McCay, Argos; four great-grandchildren; sister: Sharon Stichler, Anderson. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife: Phyllis McCay.
Friends may visit with the family from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home with Rev. Robert E. Rice Jr. of the Walnut Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana
