Robert Stanley Miller
Robert Stanley Miller, 86, Warsaw, passed away at 10:54 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
On March 14, 1929, he was born in Wagner, Mont. to William and Leah (Schuerman) Miller. He was united in marriage to Jan Parker in 1974 in Culver, who survives.
Robert moved to Culver in 1956 after serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for International Harvester, Chicago then returned home to work on the farm. Robert was a wildcatter on oil rigs in Southern Indiana and Illinois. He also worked for a tire shop, Countrymark Co-op and then for Walmart for thirteen years. He was a member of Leesburg Grace Brethren Church, VFW, American Legion, The Moose Lodge and Lions Club all in Culver.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Jan Miller, Warsaw; three sons: Cory (Jodi) Miller, Denver, N.C.; Christopher “Kip” (Angela) Miller, Warsaw; and Robert (Darci) Miller, Monticello; his brother: Clifford MIller, Chehalis, Wash.; his sister: Gladys Kohoutek, Yuma, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren: Ryan; Sydney; Shane; Savannah; Nicholas; Allen; and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Frank Miller; Harold Miller; and Edward Miller; and three sisters: Katherine Miller; Dorothy Welch; and Helen Brubaker.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Tim Sprankle officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 49 and VFW Post No. 1126, Warsaw.
Visitation hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the funeral chapel.
