Nelson L. Sutton
Nelson L. Sutton of Warsaw, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at Mason Health Care Center of Warsaw at the age of 76.
He was a 1957 graduate of Leesburg High School in Leesburg. Nelson was inducted into the U.S. Army on April 22, 1965 and served until his honorable discharge in 1967.
In his early life he had also worked at Homelite in Leesburg, as well as once having worked for Zimmer, Inc. of Warsaw. He was a farmer and had worked at Bristol Myers as a supervisor until he retired. Nelson also raised cows, horses and helped his daughter with 4-H projects and with the Horse and Pony Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially making maple syrup.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1939 in Warsaw, to Earl Sutton and Blanche Louise (Tom) Sutton. On Oct. 21, 1961, he was married to Susie Helen Louise (Shroyer) Sutton, who survives in Warsaw.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter: Kris (Randy) Dewell, Indianapolis; two grandsons: Liam and Van Dewell, Indianapolis; his two brothers: Keith (Joan) Sutton, S.C.; Leon (Sally) Sutton, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Kenneth Sutton; and two sisters: Phyllis Mullett; and Marilyn Wuthrich.
Visitation will be held on from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home of Warsaw and officiated by Pastor Mike Beezley. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw and the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, Topeka, Ks.; or to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, Pierceton, and would be appreciated by his family.
