Woman Provides Item To Aid In Drug Deal
WARSAW — A woman who provided a pair of scissors to aid in a heroin drug deal has resulted in her arrest on a level 5 felony.
According to the state statute the woman knowingly or intentionally aided another person to knowingly or intentionally deliver a narcotic drug, pure or adulterated.
Hailey Kay Templeton, 32, who was booked under the address of 202 Argonne Road, Warsaw, but is listed by the courts with an address of 2127 N. Fox Farm Road, Warsaw, was booked at 3:49 a.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 13, on the charge of aiding/inducing, causing a felony by Syracuse Police. She was also arrested on a charge of possessing a precursor.
According to the probable cause, filed Oct. 6 by Warsaw Police, Templeton was in Meijer on Sept. 24, allegedly stealing items while her cousin, Kacynda Northrup, was conducting an alleged drug deal in a vehicle in the parking lot.
A purchase of one-half gram of heroin was arranged with Northrup for $100. Originally the agreement was to meet at a Dollar General Store, however, that location was changed several hours later, to Meijer. Northrup reportedly exited the store and walked with the buyer to a vehicle. Northrup reportedly asked buyer if he/she had any hypodermic syringes at home and then stated she may have to wait for Templeton to come out of the store.
When Templeton returned to the vehicle she entered the front passenger seat of Northrup’s vehicle. Templeton was asked, by Northrup, if she had any scissors in her purse. Templeton allegedly provided the scissors to get the heroin out of a rubber glove. Northrup had told the individual making the drug purchase that Templeton was inside the store stealing items.
The brown powdery substance was field tested when it was in the possession of police, testing positive for heroin.
