Tracy Granted Approval For Two Petitions
WARSAW — Matt Tracy’s two petitions were among several considered by the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Warsaw.
Tracy asked for an exception for the purpose of allowing a storage warehouse for landscaping equipment and office space, as well as a variance to permit the construction of a commercial building addition on the west side of SR 13, north of Ryerson Road in Washington Township. Both petitions were approved, but the variance was approved with a condition the addition can be no closer to the road right of way than the existing building and the fencing must be open, not chain linked, due to its proximity to a state road.
Other agenda items included:
• Bob Petro’s petition for a variance to permit construction of a residence on the west side of Chapman Lake Drive, north of Greystone Drive in Plain Township, was tabled until the Nov. 10 meeting. A neighbor remonstrated and asked for time to talk with Petro about his plans.
• Jeremy Williams was granted an exception to allow construction of an oversized accessory building with a covered porch on the south side of Chapman Lake Drive, east of CR 325E in Plain Township.
• Aaron Norris was granted a variance to permit the expansion of a pond on CR 800W, south of SR 25 in Franklin Township.
• Robert Seeger was granted a variance to permit the construction of a residence accessory addition on Chapman Lake Drive, northwest of CR 250N in Plain Township. As a condition to approval, he must get written approval from his neighbor to the south.
• Homer Jennings was granted a variance to permit the construction of a residence addition on Edgewater Street at the intersection with Dixie Drive in Silver Lake.
• James Sarll’s petition for an exception to change and alter a non-conforming residence on South Hill Drive, east of Sunnyside Lane in Seward Township was dropped because no one showed up.
• Vint and Brenda Hughes were granted a variance to allow a residence addition on 8 Square Road in Plain Township.
• Mary Jo Cavett was granted a variance to permit construction of a residence accessory 20 feet (not 14 feet as requested) from the right of way on Hoosier Avenue in Silver Lake.
• The BZA upheld a decision made in September to allow a day care business for Christine Stump on Blue Spruce Court in Wayne Township. David and Teresa Kotterman had appealed the decision. Stump obtained letters of support from parents of children she plans to take care of.
• And the BZA upheld a decision to issue a permit in February 2015 after an appeal by Leigh and Cynthia Fabbri, saying only 30 days is allowed to submit an appeal.
