Shelby Petition Approved By County BZA
WARSAW — Carole Shelby’s petition for a variance to split a lot creating an undersized tract of ground was among the several agenda items considered by the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Warsaw.
Splitting the lot would also create a new property line for property located on the north side of Washington Street at the intersection with Main Street in North Webster. The petition was approved as presented by the BZA.
Other agenda items included:
• Joseph and Denise Davis were granted a variance to allow a portable shed to remain as placed and to allow an open deck to be constructed, but the deck must be 35 feet from the water’s edge, not 15 feet as originally requested on EMS W23 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Allan Foyle was granted a variance to permit the construction of an attached garage on the west side of EMS D6 Lane at the intersection with CR 1000N at Dewart Lake in Van Buren Township. He dropped a second petition asking for a privacy fence to remain as placed.
• George and Sandra Lung were granted a variance to permit construction of a new residence on EMS B48A Lane at Sechrist Lake in Tippecanoe Township. As a condition to the approval, they must have the county surveyor’s office sign off since a private drain tile is located on the property.
• Kenneth and Pamela Zorger were granted a variance to permit allowing a carport to remain as placed by a previous property owner on EMS B48A Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Robert Parks was granted a variance to permit construction of residence additions on Albert Decker Drive at Webster Lake in Tippecanoe Township.
• Robert Edwards was granted a variance to permit allowing an accessory shed to remain as placed on EMS B6B Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
• Michael DeWitt was granted an exception to expand a non-conforming structure by adding to an accessory building on East Wawasee Drive, northeast of CR 1100N in Turkey Creek Township.
• Nhung Nguyen was granted a variance to permit construction of a second-story addition on Hatchery Road at Lake Wawasee in Turkey Creek Township.
• John and Shirley Hidy were granted an exception to allow a deed restriction to be removed, but the deed must state the accessory building will only be used for hobbies, personal storage or additional yard space on Sullivan Road, northwest of EMS B48 Lane in Tippecanoe Township.
