Knox Topples Trojans
KNOX – A huge start paved the way for Knox to topple Triton 40-14 in prep football action Friday night.
The Redskins tallied 26 points in the opening period en route to claiming the Hoosier Athletic Conference win.
Knox, which lost to Triton last season, improves to 3-5 overall and 3-4 in league play.
The Trojans, who drop their seventh straight game, fall to 1-7 overall and 1-6 in conference action.
Knox outgained the Trojans 360-177 in total yards, including rushing for 343 in the contest. Triton had six turnovers in the loss, including four interceptions.
Jacob Krause rushed for 197 yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns to pace Knox.
Jeremy Jones had 127 yards on the ground on 24 carries to lead Triton. Jones scored on runs of 23 and 19 yards for the pair of Triton touchdowns. He also had two receptions for 20 yards and 11 total tackles on defense.
Triton will host West Central (1-7) and Knox plays at Caston (1-7) in regular-season finales next Friday night.
