UPDATE: Hearing Set Tuesday On Change Of Venue
UPDATE: A motion to continue the hearing was filed and granted by Kosciusko Circuit Court Judge Mike Reed. A hearing, in the judges chambers, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12.
This hearing will set a new date for the change of venue hearing.
The continuance was requested due to the funeral services of local attorney Scott Smith, killed in a plane crash Friday, Oct. 2.
WARSAW — Attorneys for the prosecution and defense, in the murder charges against Brandon T. Woody, Syracuse, will appear in Kosciusko Circuit Court Tuesday morning, Oct. 13.
The hearing is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
Arguments relating to the defense’s request for a change of venue will be the main purpose of the hearing. There will also be two requests for motion in limine presented. Motion in limine is a motion requesting the judge rule certain evidence not be introduced. One motion concerns character evidence.
Woody is charged in the Feb. 19 deaths of Tara Thornburg and Joshua Knisley.
The seven-day jury trial, which at this time also includes Kyle DeHart, is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 28.
