Smoke Testing Begins Monday
WARSAW — Smoke testing, also known as vapor testing, will begin Monday, Oct. 5, throughout the city of Warsaw, in an effort to locate ground water infiltration into the city’s sewer system.
According to Brian Davison, utility manager, residents effected by the testing have received notification via door hangers. “It is water vapor, instead of smoke,” he stated. “We’ve notified everybody,” he added noting the vapors will back feed into a residence or business if there is a dry trap.
Davison stated the vapor or smoke is not dangerous.
Testing will begin in the area of Logan and Shady Creek and be conducted for seven weeks.
