‘The Bachelor’ Submits Warsaw Filming Request
WARSAW — Recent news of a local man’s future as “The Bachelor“ has been abuzz throughout the Kosciusko Community. Ben Higgins, formerly of Warsaw, and recent contestant on “The Bachelorette,” may soon be bringing his search for love back home to Warsaw, where filming scenes for the upcoming season is proposed to take place.
A filming notification was submitted by NZK Productions, Inc., on Sept. 24, announcing the production company’s proposal for filming scenes for the reality show at the Kosciusko County Courthouse on Sunday, Oct. 25 and Monday, Oct. 26.
The company has requested the closing of North Buffalo Street, between West Center and West Main streets, from 12-4 p.m. Oct. 24; West Center Street, between North Buffalo and North Lake streets from 1 p.m. Oct. 24, to 6 a.m. on Oct. 27; the North Buffalo Street and West Center Street intersection from 1 p.m. on Oct. 24, to 6 a.m. Oct. 27; and the North Buffalo Street and West Main Street intersection, from 12 p.m. Oct. 24, to 6 a.m. Oct. 26, and from 6 p.m. Oct 26, to 6 a.m. Oct. 27.
“We will be setting up a public event on North Buffalo Street and West Center Street on Oct. 24 and 25, and filming a scene at the public event on the evening of Oct. 25,” notes NZK. “We will also be setting up a scene to be filmed at the courthouse on the night of Oct. 26.”
The proposal will be reviewed by the Warsaw Board of Works this Friday.
Higgins may not have been a love match for Kaitlyn Bristowe on the latest season of “The Bachelorette,” however, he may have a second chance at finding love. Higgins, who was the second runner-up in Bristowe’s season, will now be the 20th leading man of “The Bachelor.”
Higgins, who graduated from Warsaw Community high school, had a strong community presence in Warsaw. He reportedly served as a ministerial intern at Warsaw Community Church and was the marketing and fundraising coordinator at Baker Youth Club from April 2011 to July 2013.
Though he currently resides in Colorado, his family reportedly still resides in the area. The 26-year-old software salesman with a heart of gold was a fan favorite. Whether you are a reality fan or just want to cheer on a local, tune in to the upcoming season of “The Bachelor“ to see Higgins, hopefully, find love.
