Man Assaults Medical Personnel
WARSAW — Bernie Joe Montileaux, 35, 416 W. Winona Ave., Warsaw, was arrested for assaulting a Kosciusko Community Hospital medical personnel while being treated.
He was booked at 12:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, in the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of refusal to submit to chemical test and battery causing bodily injury to an EMT. His bond was set at $10,000 surety and $950 cash on the charges.
Court documents were filed Sept. 17, stating on Aug. 13, Warsaw Police Officer Phil Hawks was called to the intensive care unit of KCH, where he was advised by an employee that Montileaux was attempting to remove an IV and get out of bed. She stated while she was assisting him back into bed he became angry and struck her on the side of her face.
Police also spoke with two other employees. One stated she saw Montileaux pull his monitor leads off and bolt for the door. Both employees stated as the employee was escorting him back to his room they saw Montileaux hit her.
