INDOT, ISP Warn Drivers To ‘Move Over’
INDIANA — Every year, first responders, highway maintenance crews and tow truck drivers across the country are injured or killed on the job while providing services to motorists along America’s highways.
The “Move Over” law aims to improve safety for police, firefighters, paramedics, tow truck drivers, and all roadside emergency and maintenance professionals.
The Indiana Department of Transportation and Indiana State Police are teaming up to get the word out about a weeklong “Move over, Slow Down” safety blitz, which could result in fines for drivers who are caught not obeying the law.
The ISP safety enforcement blitz will take place Monday, Oct. 12, through Friday, Oct. 16, along northwest Indiana highways and interstates.
