Lake City Place Hosts Cookout
WARSAW — The week of Sept. 13-19, was National Assisted Living Week. At Lake City Place it was a time specially designated for families, caregivers and the community to honor and cherish loved ones who are assisted living residents.
Creating happiness through healthy cooking was the goal and many asked for seconds. Sharing meals with caregivers, family and friends was an ideal way to bring back cherished memories and create new ones.
The caregivers, staff, volunteers and family members went above and beyond in making a difference in the residents. ”National Assisted Living Week is a wonderful time to recognize and honor them,” says Rhonda Schifferl, executive director of Lake City Place.
There were approximately 140 total attend the event. The menu included barbeque chicken on the grill, pulled pork, potato salad, macaroni salad, rolls, brownies and a wine spritzer for the adult beverages.
“We had many attend from our local community,” stated Sue Roesner, community relations manager. “This allowed Lake City Place to showcase our vibrant community with amenities for seniors to live a more active and enriched lifestyle. Many requested private tours and follow up to inquire about our care options.”
