James W. ‘Jim’ Schoeff
James W. “Jim” Schoeff, 68, of Warsaw, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, in his residence. He was born on Nov. 22, 1946, in Huntington, to Wallace E. and Betty L. (Cowin) Schoeff.
He graduated in 1965 from Huntington High School and in 1969 from Monmouth College in Ill. with his Education Degree. He grew up in Huntington, and spent most of his adult life in the Chicago, Ill. area. On July 3, 1997, in Warsaw, (Irish Lake) he married Kay D. Barney who survives. He moved to Irish Lake eight years ago after spending most of his life coming to the lake on weekends and in the summer. He taught school for five years in McHenry, Ill. and then spent the next 33 years in the Mortgage Banking Industry.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in North Webster and was a 38 year member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Lodge # 0995 in Westchester, Ill.
He is survived by wife: Kay Schoeff, Warsaw; two daughters: Pamela (Jim) Pondel, Brookfield, Ill.; and Jenna Schoeff, Portland, Ore.; son: Matthew (Kelly) Schoeff, LaGrange Park, Ill.; four grandchildren; mother: Betty Schoeff, Huntington; sister: Kathy (Mike) Hamm, Martinsville; and brother: Donald (Ruth) Schoeff, Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at the United Methodist Church, North Webster. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with Pastor Byron Kaiser of the church officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
