WARSAW — Kosciusko Community YMCA will be starting its second session fall classes on Oct. 26.
Classes will run through Dec. 20. Classes for youth will include swim lessons and gymnastics classes for all ages. Classes that promote the Healthy Living aspect of your Y will include group exercise and Indoor Group Cycling classes, classes for older adults and water aerobics in both the Warm Water and Lap Pools; adult classes are included with a Y membership. In addition to the regular class schedule the Y will be offering several diverse programs and opportunities this fall.
The Y will be hosting an adult women’s Bible study being offered by Warsaw Community Church starting on Oct. 7. The women will be going through Beth Moore’s study on 1 and 2 Thessalonians, “Children of the Day.” You don’t have to be a Y member to participate. Find encouragement and community from 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 7-Dec. 9. Sign up through the YMCA.
There will be Teen Nights from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 9 and Nov. 13 for ages 13-18. This will be an opportunity for teens to get together and have fun in organized gym activities.
The Y will offer a Push Pull Event — a bench press and deadlift competition for men and women age 15 and up on Oct. 10 starting at noon. You don’t need to be a Y member to compete. Sign up at the Welcome Center by Oct. 7.
Join the Y on a journey to learn the Spanish language! Enjoy the rewards of life-long learning while gaining the skills to connect to Spanish-speaking members in our community. This is an introductory course in which participants will learn to listen to, speak, read and write entry-level Spanish, great for those wanting to learn conversational Spanish. This class will be tailored to the needs of participants, but is not recommended for those with considerable past experience learning Spanish. Spanish will be offered from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday nights Oct. 19-Dec. 14. Sign up by Oct. 18.
The Y will be starting an Adult Volleyball League from 8-10 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 5-Dec. 17. Teams will consist of six to nine players and teams with a captain who is a Y member will enjoy a discounted rate. Register by Oct. 28.
CPR will be offered to the community from 6-9 p.m. Nov. 12. If you need CPR certification for a job or you want to be more prepared to handle an emergency you can sign up for this American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR class. The class will teach adult, child and infant CPR and AED use. This three-hour class provides a two-year certification. Contact the Welcome Center to register by Nov.9. There is a cost for participation and certification.
Registration for the fall special events is going on now at the North Webster or the Parkview Warsaw YMCA branch or online at www.kcymca.org. Fall 2 registration will start Oct. 19 for everyone.
