Quilt Exhibit At Old Jail

WARSAW — The Old Jail Museum is featuring an exhibit of quilts Sept. 17 through Oct. 17.
The exhibit includes a 1897 double Irish chain quilt made by the Clunette Missionary Society, 1850 Long Cabin design, 1850 Courthouse Steps design and late 1850s pinwheel design quilts, a lap coverlet made from men’s silk ties, and 1895 Stony Point Church quilt which contains the names of the quilters.
There is also a 1897 Friendship Quilt or Johnny-Around-the-Corner quilt made by mothers of children of the Kinzie School, Sidney, for Emma Mort as a wedding gift, 1800s Turkey Tracks, Goose Tracks and Crazy Quilts, and a 1900 Green Feather Star with Red Rosettes quilt that is featured in the book, Quilts of Indiana.
The museum is located at 121 N Indiana St., Warsaw and is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Admission is by donation.
