New Children’s Coordinator At Bell Library

MENTONE — Bell Memorial Public Library would like to welcome our new children’s coordinator, Sharon Kindig. Many of you may already know her as one of the teachers at Jack & Jill Preschool. Sharon is looking forward to working with the kids and parents here at Bell Library. Stop in and give her a warm welcome!
Children’s Story Time will be starting again with new times and dates. Wednesdays Story Time will be at 3 p.m. Story Time will also be held at 10 a.m. the first and third Saturdays of the month. Our Lego program is starting again but will be at 1 p.m. the third Saturday of the month.
Sharon will be starting a new kid’s program this month. Boy’s Night Out will be held the third Wednesday of the month and Girl’s Night Out will be held the fourth Wednesday of the month. Both programs will be held at 6 p.m. and are for kids ages 7 to 12. Check it out!
Our Pre-Teen Fun Night for kids ages 9 to 13 is at 5:30 p.m. the third Thursday of the month. Teen Gaming is at 5 p.m. the last Thursday of the month and Anime Night is at 5 p.m. the fourth Friday of the month. Anime is for teens ages 13 and up only.
Our adult program for the month of September, we will be making mini book necklaces. Date and time is 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. Cost for this program will be $2 and you must sign up. Be sure to write the book title that you would like to make.
Our Quilting Club meets the third Monday of every month. Our next meeting is at 6 p.m. Sept. 21. We are working on the Charming Stars Quilt by Moda but you can bring any project that you would like to work on. We have 12 sewing machines available for your use or you can bring your own.
Our Adult Movie program is starting again. Time has been changed to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21. We will be viewing “Jezebel” starring Bette Davis and Henry Fonda. Join us for popcorn and a movie.
Zumba at Bell Library every Monday evening at 7 p.m. and PiYo meets at different locations in the Mentone and Akron areas. There is a $3 donation per person per class. For more info follow Akron PiYo & Eva’s Zumba and Hip Hop Classes on Facebook.
Euchre at Bell Library is the fourth Monday of the month Sept. 28. Coffee will be provided but please bring your own snacks and drinks. There will be prizes for the highest score, the most loners, and a booby prize. Come join the fun.
Coming Thursday, Oct. 22 will be Tactical Edge, a firearm training simulator. Steve Cooper, NRA Pistol Instructor and NRA Personal Protection Instructor will be at Bell Library to demonstrate this interactive video format; utilizing actual firearms with Wireless Bluetooth Capabilities and real time training diagnostics. It provides the most realistic training experience in using firearms, including magazine reloads, jam exercises, and recoil. Time and date is 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct.r 22.
