NorthWood Escapes Warriors On Pitch
Two yellow cards on the Warriors summed up the night on the soccer field for Wawasee. NorthWood had one goal recalled but still managed to hang on for a 1-0 win.
“Our boys fought hard,” said head coach Jordan Sharp. “We are thirsty for that first conference win.”
Brady Wickersham scored two goals for Wawasee’s JV in a 3-2 loss. Kobe Jones recorded one assist.
Wawasee will host Elkhart Memorial next Saturday.
Raiders Rackets Too Much for Warriors
Cal Heinisch was the lone winner for the Warrior tennis team in a 4-1 loss to Northridge.
Heinisch won 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 over Ridge’s Logan Corns.
Wawasee (4-7, 0-4) will host Warsaw Tuesday night.
The JV team tied 2-2.
Lady Warriors Down Fremont At Maxwelton
The girls golf team continued its stellar season with their best round of the year.
Wawasee shot a 166 led by Mikala Mawhorter’s 37.
Aubrey Schmeltz (41), Kylee Rostochak (42), Kamryn Foy (46) and Madison Beaman (46) rounded out Wawasee’s scores.
“This shows what we can do when we shoot well,” remarked Wawasee head coach Steve Coverstone.
Wawasee (15-1) will compete in the NLC tournament at Meadow Valley this Saturday.
Raider Frosh Outlast Warriors
In freshmen football action it was Northridge downing Wawasee 28-7.
The Warrior frosh are now 2-1 on the season. No stats were reported for the game.
