PigPen Theatre Co. began creating their unique brand of music, film, and theatre as freshmen at Carnegie Mellon University in 2007. They have produced their original theatrical productions Off-Broadway and have toured the country — earning them critic’s picks from The New York Times, Time Out New York, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Boston Globe, and many more, ranking them in the top ten theatrical events of 2011, 2012, and 2013. They were the first group to win the NYC Fringe Festival’s top honor for a play two years in a row and have gone on to win IRNE and Jeff Awards for their touring productions.
Pruis Hall is situated just off of Woodworth drive next to Bracken Library. This 640-seat venue provides an intimate setting for musical performances and is used to host a variety of special events throughout the school year. Emens Auditorium programs a series of talented musical artists at Pruis Hall in a series called “Emens Presents at Pruis.” This event is featured in this series.
