North Webster Set For PTO Walk A Thon
NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster Elementary School will be having its fourth annual Parents-Teachers Organization Walk A Thon Friday, Sept. 18. In 2014 the students raised nearly $13,000. All of the money raised is given back to the school every year via field trips, special events, teacher/staff appreciation.
Last year’s donations provided new equipment and a beautiful hand painted spirit mural for the gymnasium. This year’s focus will specifically be toward classrooms and enhancing the learning environment for students.
On Walk A Thon day, students will walk with their class for 30 minutes around the school track where they will stop at stations along the way with fun activities. Toward the end of the day, teachers and staff participate in a fun competition. Students always enjoy watching their teachers compete against each other.
Every student who participates in the Walk A Thon will be given a Warrior T-shirt. Students who raise $75 will receive an entry in a drawing to win free pizza for a year.
Any student who raises $50 receives admission to a free skating party in October. The student collecting the most money overall will win a family water adventure sponsored by Camp Crosley. Second place will receive free pizza for a year from Bourbon Street Pizza, and third place will win a Family Fun Pack from local businesses.
Parent volunteers are welcome and needed. If you are a parent or friend of North Webster Elementary students and would like to assist on Walk A Thon day, please send an email to [email protected] for more information.
Donations can be sent to Walk A Thon, North Webster School, 5745 North 750E, North Webster, IN 46555. Donors may specify a student they wish to be credited in the memo line of a check or it can just be a general donation.
