Lyle J. Gephart
Lyle J. Gephart, 84, a longtime Bourbon resident, passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a recent illness.
Lyle was born May 2, 1931 at Seward, Ohio to Roy N. and Mabel Ruth (Evers) Gephart.
He has been a resident of Bourbon since 1958. Lyle was a graduate of Lyons High School Lyons, Ohio, in 1949. Lyle was a salesman for Hahn Systems, selling Senco products to RV and trailer factories throughout the area. He retired in 1999.
Lyle and his wife enjoyed their winters in The Villages in Florida for 10 years. He was an avid golfer and was always up for a game, he was a hard worker remodeling several homes in the area; he loved to dance and he enjoyed visiting with people. He enjoyed his family who will greatly miss him. Lyle and Jerri also attended the Country Church, Bourbon, Indiana.
On June 30, 1951, he joined in marriage to Pearl Geraldine “Jerri” Mills at Seward, Ohio, she survives.
He is survived by his wife along with their two sons: Bruce (Terri) Gephart, Bourbon; Bradley (Lisa) Gephart, Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren: Melissa (Seth) Ray, Nathan (Bobi) Gephart, Emily (Ryan) Sutter, Joshua Gephart, Grant Gephart, Blake Gephart and Travis Gephart; nine great-grandchildren; and his brother: Larry (Paulette) Gephart, LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Gary; a sister: Jeannette Roth; and a brother: Leon Gephart.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the Country Church, SR 331 N. Bourbon. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the Church with Pastor David Gould officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bourbon.
