Former Bethany Soccer Star At ND Tourney
SOUTH BEND – Area soccer fans will have two chances this weekend to see former Bethany Christian star Femi Hollinger-Janzen in action.
Hollinger-Janzen and his Indiana University team is scheduled to play a pair of matches in the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament at Notre Dame.
The No. 18 Hoosiers (1-1) play UAB (1-1) at 5 p.m. Friday and then face No. 24 South Florida (1-0-1) at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at Alumni Stadium.
The host Irish face South Florida Friday at 7:30 p.m. and play UAB at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Hollinger-Janzen is a senior forward/midfielder for the Hoosiers. He was an All-Big Ten first teamer last season and also an Academic All-Big Ten honoree. He scored five goals as a junior.
Hollinger-Janzen was the 2011 Indiana Player of the Year and a high school All-American while playing for Bethany Christian. He scored 67 goals in his high school career.
The Hoosiers lost a 1-0 final in double overtime to Notre Dame last Sunday.
