Elizabeth Ann Tyner
Elizabeth Ann Tyner, 74, of Wabash, died at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at her home.
She was born Sept. 25, 1940, in Wabash, to Robert and Ruth (Warner) Oswalt. She married Terry Lee Tyner at the Bunker Hill Air Force Base Chapel on Nov. 30, 1963. Elizabeth was an Air Force wife for over 13 years and held down the homefront while Terry served two years in Thailand and Vietnam
Elizabeth graduated as the Salutatorian from Wabash High School in 1958 and Ball State University Nursing Program in 1962. She was the first person to have a perfect score on her nursing state board exam. As a nurse, she worked for Wabash County Hospital and retired from Wabash Healthcare after 35 years. Elizabeth was an amazing and caring nurse, and witnessed to her patients, their families and staff members. She was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir and was active in the VBS in her youth. She was also a Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and flying.
She is survived by her husband: Terry Lee Tyner, Wabash; two children: Robert David Tyner, Nappanee; and Jennifer LeAnn (Mike) Nestleroad, Somerset; two grandchildren: Trenton Michael Jones; and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Jones, both of Somerset; and her brother: Steven William (Jill Louise) Oswalt, Punta Gorda, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother John Oswalt.
Per Elizabeth’s request she will be cremated and there will be no services. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
