William ‘Rock’ Wells
William “Rock” Wells, age 59, of Warsaw, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born July 19, 1956, in Fremont, Ohio, to Lester and Versie (Lacey) Wells.
He was united in marriage to Beth Sims in Warsaw, on Dec. 26, 1987. A Warsaw resident since 1977, he was employed by RR Donnelly and Sons for 18 years as a Shipping Clerk and retired in 1993. He attended Oswego Baptist Church. His hobbies included singing and music. He was a Girls Throws Coach for Warsaw Community High School for four years. He was known for his monstrous Fourth of July fireworks shows. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and James Bond fan. He cherished family vacations and spending time with family and his friends.
Survivors include his wife: Beth Wells, son: Leonard (fiancé Johnna Rebenack) Wells, Warsaw, sister: Evelyn (James) Higgins, Fremont, Ohio; and a brother: Leonard Smith, Fremont, Ohio; grandchildren: William; Andre; Addy; Leonard, Jr; aunts: Katherine Lacey, Hope, Ark.; and Ella Mae Criner, Texarkana, Texas; several nieces; nephews; and cousins. He was preceded by his parents; son: William Wells; grandson: Korbin Foster; brothers: James and Chester Wells; sister: Rosie Young; and his birth father: J.C. Wells.
Visitation hours are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday officiated by Pastor Jim Mansfield. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
