Argos Thumps Lady Warriors On Pitch
Wawasee had a long bus ride home following a 6-0 loss to Argos Thursday evening. A poor first half was too much to rebound from for the Lady Warrriors despite a good effort in the final 40 minutes.
Wawasee (2-3-1) will host NLC power Goshen this Saturday.
Warrior Frosh Win Again
The Wawasee freshman football team moved to 2-0 after a successful trip to Akron.
Wawasee downed Tippecanoe Valley 28-14 thanks to some big plays. Dylan Hepler hauled in a 45-yard reception and added an 84-yard kick return to help get the Warriors the win. Aaron Evans added a 65-yard rushing score while Steven Hauntz grabbed a 25-yard receiving score.
Wawasee will host Northridge next Thursday.
Warriors Take A Court, Concord Takes Match
The Warrior tennis team fell to 0-2 in NLC play Thursday night following a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Concord. Cal Heinisch was the lone Warrior to steal a court. Heinisch won 6-1, 6-1 over Nate Slabach at No. 3 singles.
Concord won the JV match 6-4. Brady Robinson won his first singles match with an 8-5 win at No. 4 singles. The JV falls to 2-3 for the season.
Wawasee’s varsity (4-3) will host its duels this Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
Volleyball Team Starts Conference Season With Loss
Wawasee’s volleyball team took a tough loss Thursday night falling 3-0 to Plymouth. The Lady Warriors never seemed to very close, losing 25-14, 25-8, 25-7. Seaquinn Bright led the team with nine digs, Meghan Fretz added three kills.
Wawasee (1-10, 0-1) will host Goshen next Thursday.
The junior varsity team also suffered a rare defeat falling 2-0 to Plymouth. Courtney Larson led the team with six blocks.
The C-team also competed but fell 2-1 to Plymouth. Bethany Flannery tallied six assists, Hannah Gaerte added six kills and Kaylin Williams led the team with three kills and seven digs.
