Tippecanoe Valley Sports Wrap – Sept. 3
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team rolled past LaVille 5-0 Thursday night.
Trevor Neeley posted a 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles to lead the way for the Vikings.
Keith Wright won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles for Valley and Nick Caudill completed the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles team of Dakota Parker and Seth Hoffman won 8-7 (7-5), 6-4 and Eric Wright teamed with Kane Steller at No. 2 doubles for a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Volleyball Team Defeated
The Valley volleyball team dropped a 3-1 final to Maconaquah in a conference match.
The Braves topped the Vikings 19-25, 25-20, 25-12, 25-17.
Abby Betten led Valley with 15 kills. Madison Henninger had six assists and Sophie Bussard 10 digs.
Valley is now 5-4 on the season.
Golf Team Topped
The Tippecanoe Valley girls golf team fell to Southwood in conference play at Etna Acres.
Victoria Biddle shot a 48 to lead the Vikings, who finished with a team score of 217.
Makayla Sandbakken fired a personal-best total of 50 for Valley.
Liz VanMeter came in with a 52, Lexi Cumberland 67 and Blake McBrier 69.
Jade VanMeter shot a 54 and Jordan Krotke a 75 in junior varsity play for Valley.
Valley is now 7-8 overall and 5-4 in the Three Rivers Conference.
The Vikings play Saturday in the Culver Academy Invitational at the Swan Lake Golf Course.
