Now that the kids are back in school, moms can enjoy a little “me” time at the library during Crafts and Chat 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9. This is a new monthly program that provides women the opportunity to visit with each other while working on their individual crafts. Just bring your craft project to the library to work on while enjoying the company of other crafters. There is no set agenda, just an informal time of relaxing, chatting, and crafting whether it be knitting, scrapbooking, sewing, painting or whatever. Crafts and Chat will be held the second Wednesday each month.
The kids can enjoy their own craft time after school at 4 p.m. every Tuesday during Crafts and Stories. Kids in grades K-5 can stop in the library to work on a craft while listening to stories. The craft is provided. Kids can come every week or once in a while. We ask that parents remain in the library.
Registration starts Sept. 9 for the eight week fall session of Preschool Story Time. The fall session begins Wednesday, Sept. 23, and runs every Wednesday morning through Wednesday, Nov. 11. Parents have a choice of two time periods at 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 p.m. The children will learn about transportation and “How Do We Go” through stories, games, and crafts as well as having fun with other children. Preschool Story Time is geared to children ages 3-5. You can sign your child up at the youth services desk, call (574) 834-7122 ext. 202, or e-mail [email protected].
After a month’s break, Lego Club is back again 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. It’s a fun time of creativity and imagination for ages 5-12. The library supplies the Lego’s while the kids supply the ideas. No registration is needed, but we ask that children under 9 be accompanied by an adult.
Local residents Roger Stump, Jim White, and Alice Charlton will entertain guests during the library’s North Webster Cemetery Walk 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13. The trio will play a variety of music on their mountain dulcimers inside the library while guests wait for their cemetery tours to begin. Be sure to stop inside and enjoy the music.
The library will be closed all day on Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day. However, you can renew materials, place holds, and access our catalog and databases online 24/7 at www.nweb.lib.in.us.
