Triton Competes At NorthWood Invite
NAPPANEE – Triton’s girls and boys cross country teams were active at Saturday’s NorthWood Cross Country Invite. The girls placed seventh as a team while the boys were one runner short of a team compilation.
Baylee McIntire had a fantastic run at Stauffer Park, finishing sixth overall with a time of 21:20. Triton’s compliment included Abigail Powell (24:34), Aimee Gladieux (24:39), Michaela Best (25:00) and Alysha May (27:42).
The Lady Trojans were seventh overall in the team standings with 165 points. Concord held off Mishawaka Marian, 54-55, to take the girls team title.
The Triton boys had to compete as individuals, having four and needing five, to fill out an eligible roster. Bailey Watkins was 19th overall to lead the Trojans with a time of 18:42. Also running for Triton were Shaun Honeycutt (20:29), Brock Watkins (22:22) and Brenden Ray (23:30).
Ryan Price of NorthWood ran away to take the boys individual title with a time of 17:01 while Bethany Christian’s Hanna Yeakey took the girls title at 19:57.
Triton will run again Tuesday in a triangular with Bremen and LaVille at LaVille.
