Ralph Macey
Ralph Macey, age 82, of Plymouth died in his home Thursday evening, Aug. 27, 2015.
Ralph was born in South Bend Sept. 18, 1933.
After returning from Korea in 1957 as a sergeat in the 69th Signal Detachment, he enrolled at the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne. There he earned bachelor of science in electronic engineering. He worked at various companies in South Bend eventually retiring from Cole Associates in South Bend in 1991 where he worked as an electrical designer for more than 25 years.
Over a seven year period he built their home in the country and the family moved to Plymouth in 1976.
Ralph is survived by his wife: Janet, Plymouth; daughter: Lea (Jeff) Johnsom, Walkerton; son: Ryon (Julia); and two grandchildren: Lily and Eva, Plymouth; sister: Dolores McCarthy; nephew: Tim McCarthy; and niece: Kathy Bennett, Culver.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Richard and Gertrude Macey, Culver.
The Macey family requests memorial contribution be made to The Center of Hospice and Palliative Care.
Following Ralph’s wishes, he will be cremated. There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Van Guilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth. As directed by Ralph, there will be a private memorial and wake for family and close friends at a later date.
