Tigers Earn NLC Victory Over Memorial
The Warsaw doubles teams won a pair of roller coaster matches to help boost the team to a 4-1 win against Elkhart Memorial.
Colton Lind and Chris Herendeen had to work overtime in the first set of the No. 1 doubles matchup with Brett Wilson and Stephen Tefft, taking the set 7-6 (8-6), but settling in for a 6-0 second-set win.
David Homme and Hudson Snyder were up against a formidable duo from Memorial in Brandon Bailey and Justin Walter at No. 2 doubles. Taking the first set 6-3, the Tiger duo then lost 6-0 to the Chargers. Set three would go to Warsaw, winning 6-3.
Justin Stout got the win at No. 1 singles, rallying from a 6-4 first set loss to Jon Bailey to go 6-2, 6-3 for the victory.
Andrew Gauger defeated Alec Mark 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 for Warsaw.
Memorial’s Brenden Graber defeated Ryan Wettschurack in another long match 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 2 singles.
In the JV circuit, Warsaw defeated Elkhart Memorial 11-2.

The Tigers (4-1, 1-0 NLC) are back in action next week on Tuesday when they head to Goshen for another NLC match.
Plymouth Edges Warsaw Soccer
A goal on both ends of the time clock sent Plymouth to a 2-0 boys soccer win at Warsaw Thursday night. Plymouth scored early in the first half and put the game away with a goal in the final 10 minutes to cap the victory.
“We are still young and have a lot to work on,” noted Warsaw head coach Frank Courtois.
The junior varsity Tiger squad used a goal from Alvaro Aguillon, assisted by Payne Rager, to beat Plymouth 1-0.
The Warsaw varsity (1-3, 0-1 NLC) will visit Penn Saturday morning.
