Knox Keeps Pressure On Triton
KNOX – The two teams met for the second time in a week, and for the second time, Knox had Triton’s number. That number was 4-1, which was the score Knox won by Wednesday over Triton in boys tennis action.
Knox, which also beat the Trojans by the same score Aug. 19 at Triton, won all four of its courts in straight sets.
Eian Coed avenged his loss to Gavin Eads a week ago at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win today. Mace Eads also avenged a loss, beating Saquoya Elder four and four to give Triton its only court win at No. 2 singles.
Kooper Brocker was solid at No. 3 for Knox, shutting out Brenden Damron.
Jacob Albon and Jacob Heineman took care of Dalton Bailey and Chase Butler one and four at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Ethan Cooper and Corey Hackler beat Keygan Moiser and Aaron Stichter 7-5, 6-1.
In JV matches, Knox went 2-0 against Triton.
The loss sends Triton to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference. Triton will return to action Tuesday hosting LaVille.
