NorthWood Golfers Win League Opener
NAPPANEE – The NorthWood girls golf team almost had a record-setting effort in its conference opener Tuesday evening.
The host Panthers fired a team score of 166, just one short of the school record, in defeating Concord in Northern Lakes Conference play at McCormick Creek.
Linnzie Richner finished with a two over total of 38 to earn medalist honors for coach Adam Yoder’s talented team.
Summer Stillson and Madison Richner each came in with 42s for the winning Panthers. Mackenzie Weaver shot a 44 and Abby Slabaugh a 60 for the hosts.
Elise Boessler shot a 43 to lead Concord, which finished with a 217.
Erika Shirley finished with a 57 and Camryn Cramer 59 for Concord. Kinda Pressinell shot a 63 and Karmin Henely a 64.
There were no junior varsity team scores posted by either program. Hope Cripe of NorthWood was JV medalist with a 57.
NorthWood, now 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the NLC, will face Elkhart Memorial and Goshen in NLC action at the Maplecrest County Club in Goshen on Thursday.
