Strangely-Named Drug Store Gets A Commercial
CORYDON — In 2010, comedy duo Rhett and Link from YouTube created this hilarious commercial for a local drugstore called Butt Drugs in Corydon. Butt Drugs is a family-owned pharmacy that has been around since 1952.
Its strange name derives from the original owner, William Butt. When William Butt died, ownership of the shop was passed on to his son, Thomas Butt, who now runs the shop with his daughter, Katie Butt.
The commercial, which initially went viral, even showed up on Ellen Degeneres’ show as one of the funniest commercials of the year. Butt Drugs is not just a pharmacy, however, the ad claims. They offer many services including wine and liquor, a soda fountain, a shop and even photo prints.
“I recommend Butt Drugs for everybody.”
